  I've found in my limited use of  the network play, that it seems to be  the fastest and most reliable way to play the game,

weather permitting of course.

Directions For Hardball 2000:  To use the TCP/IP Network Connection

First: One team will have to know their current IP Address  

To check your current address open hardball before coming into room!  And go to Network Play.  There you will see TCP/IP (over the Internet) ###.###.##.### This number is your IP Address  example: 209.156.88.206 
This number changes a little after each connection!

Second: Each team than must open their Hardball games.

Third: From Opening Screen Select Network Play.

Forth: There one player initiates the connection

If iniatiating simply type in the full IP Address of your opponent and push ok.  If your not hosting just push wait for connection.  It's that easy.  And you don't even have to shut down this page!
